In addition to not being as useful at removing dirt, some other signs that your windshield wipers are losing effectiveness include squeaking or smearing. These indicate that the wipers are not making enough contact with the glass surface. This can be particularly dangerous in areas with harsh weather conditions.
Safely Remove Old Wipers
After you have decided that it is time to replace your windshield wipers the next step is to remove them. Lift the arm upwards and away from the glass and press the tab on the bottom of the arm. This will help you slide the wiper off without damaging the windshield. Firmly attach the replacement.
